Armed bandits have abducted the wife and son of a prominent businessman, Alhaji Abass, popularly known as Daniyan Saba, in Lafiagi Emirate, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The gunmen stormed the Ndeji community in the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2026 and whisked the two victims to an unknown destination.

Alhaji Abass, who owns a petrol filling station, was abducted alongside his manager in the same community last year.

They were reportedly set free by the bandits after spending some time in captivity and payment of ransom.

The incident has further heightened fears among residents, as cases of kidnapping and violent attacks continue to plague several communities within the Lafiagi Emirate and other parts of Kwara North Senatorial District.

Community members have, however, called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the area and ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.

Residents also pleaded with the authorities to take urgent action in addressing the growing insecurity threatening lives in the senatorial district.
