Reports have now confirmed that a key player for Chelsea is under UEFA investigation following his conduct in the match against PSG.

UEFA has officially opened disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea winger Pedro Neto following an altercation with a ball boy during a 5-2 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on March 11, 2026.

The incident occurred deep in stoppage time at the Parc des Princes. Frustrated by the scoreline, Neto shoved a ball boy in the chest while attempting to retrieve the ball quickly, causing the youngster to fall into an advertising board. While the referee did not book him during the match, UEFA is now investigating the winger for “unsporting conduct” under Article 15(1)(a)(v) of their disciplinary regulations.

Neto issued an immediate apology after the game, explaining that the shove was a “heat of the moment” reaction. He sought out the ball boy, apologised repeatedly, and gave him his match shirt. Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior also apologised on behalf of the club.

This European investigation follows a separate domestic charge from the Football Association (FA) earlier this month. On March 1, Neto was sent off for two yellow cards during a -1 loss to Arsenal and was subsequently charged with “improper conduct” for failing to leave the pitch promptly and using abusive language toward officials.

Neto now faces a potential one-match UEFA suspension, which would rule him out of the crucial second-leg return at Stamford Bridge on March 17.
