Troops of Operation Safe Haven have arrested a suspected terrorist ammunition courier and recovered 100 rounds of ammunition during a sting operation in Kuka area of Plateau State.

The arrest was carried out at about 1:00 p.m. on March 15, 2026 by troops of Operation Safe Haven operating under Sector 9, Sub-Sector 91, during an intelligence-led operation.

According to the sources, the suspect was apprehended while in possession of 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition believed to be meant for a terrorist group operating around Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State and neighbouring states.

Preliminary investigations further revealed that the suspect is allegedly a member of the terrorist group.

He was also observed to have a gunshot wound believed to have been sustained during an attack in Benue State in 2024.

The suspect and the recovered ammunition are currently in custody as investigations continue.
