Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has reacted strongly to a viewer who complimented her movie with what she perceived as a backhanded remark.
The viewer wrote: “I’m not a fan but I loved this one. Great work.”
Responding to the comment, the actress thanked the person for watching and for being honest, but added a blunt remark: “Thank you for the honesty and thank you for watching. I no really send your papa too so we are good.”
She later went on her X (formerly Twitter) page to further address the situation, expressing frustration over such comments.
“You will give back handed compliments and expect niceness… 😒😒😒😒”
Her response has since generated mixed reactions online. While some people supported her reaction and said backhanded compliments can be annoying, others felt her response to the viewer was unnecessarily harsh.
