Former England defender, Matt Upson, has said Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain will be the “real test” for Arsenal in the Champions League.
The three teams have all qualified for the quarter-finals after Tuesday’s last-16 second legs.
Arsenal beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 (3-1), Real Madrid saw off Manchester City 2-1 (5-1) and Paris Saint-Germain eliminated Chelsea with a 8-2 aggregate.
Upson, who was at the Emirates for the Gunner’s game, said: “Arsenal were back to the Arsenal you see at home where the match starts and they are all over the opposition.
“They were all out, pressing, Leverkusen couldn’t get anywhere.
“They didn’t have many chances but the corners started coming in, and then we saw them get the chances.
“It took some brilliance by Eze to bring that goal and from there on, it never felt like Arsenal weren’t going to go through.
“In that second half, Leverkusen came out stronger but Arsenal just carried on playing their game. In this fixture they were comfortable, they were very business like. The stadium had a positive feel before the game and that just played into it.
“If they face a side like PSG or Madrid, that will be the real test for this side. That’s when we’ll see what they’re really made of.”
