Nigerian talent manager Ubi Franklin has reacted to the heavy backlash he received over his strategy meeting with the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
Newsunplug reported that Ubi had shared photos from the strategy meeting on his social media pages. In one of the photos, Seyi Tinubu was seen holding a 5kg bag of rice, which left many enraged.

Defending himself, Franklin pointed out that it is his constitutional right to support whoever he chooses, and that he is supporting Tinubu for president.
“Dear friends, it’s your constitutional right to support whoever you choose. I’m supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President and Senator Prince Bassey Otu for Governor of Cross River State.
Senator Prof Benedict Ayade for Cross River Northern Senatorial District.
Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong for the Cross River southern senatorial district.
Senator Eteng Jones Williams.
In another tweet, Ubi reminded the public that he has been in politics since 2008, was appointed SA to the Governor of Cross River State, and contested the House of Assembly primaries in 2022. He noted how he remained loyal to his party, the APC, despite not winning.

“For those who do not know, I have been in politics since 2008.
In 2019, I was Appointed SA to the Governor of Cross River State.
In 2022, I contested the House of Assembly primaries and didn’t win. I remained loyal to my party, the APC.
I know what loyalty is, and I have exhibited it all my life. We don’t beg to belong, we are already in the beloved”.
Not done, he stressed that he didn’t start politics now, noting that he was at Eagles Square, Abuja, for the APC convention in 2022.

“We didn’t start this work today.
This is me, 26th of March 2022, at Eagles Square, Abuja, for the APC convention, and we’re back here in 202,6 4 years later, for another Convention”.
