Benfica manager, Jose Mourinho, has told Brazil head coach, Carlo Ancelotti that he made a mistake by not including Neymar in his side’s latest squad for the March international break.
According to Mourinho, Ancelotti’s decision to leave the Santos forward out of Brazil’s squad shows a lack of respect for the 34-year-old former Barcelona player.
Speaking on Diario Do Peixe, the Portuguese said (via MARCA), “Imagine if Portugal didn’t call up Cristiano Ronaldo, or if Argentina didn’t call up Lionel Messi.
You can’t take Neymar off the national team unless there’s a mutual agreement. It is a huge lack of respect toward Neymar Jr. He really made a mistake.”
Reacting to his exclusion from the squad, Neymar admitted he was sad by Ancelotti’s decision to leave him out of Brazil’s squad.
