Popular content creator and streamer Carter Efe may be facing legal trouble after allegedly pretending to be an employee of TVC at a police checkpoint.
A video that went viral, and was later shared by TVC on one of its programmes, captured the moment Carter Efe claimed to be part of TVC News during a routine stop-and-search by police.
The clip suggested that the streamer’s actions were an attempt to evade standard checkpoint procedures.
In response, several TVC presenters criticised his behavior while reviewing the footage, suggesting that the station could take legal action against him. They also noted that such impersonation could undermine the credibility and safety of genuine journalists working with security agencies.
Public reaction has been mixed: some viewers saw the incident as harmless content creation, while others regarded it as a serious violation that might justify arrest or a formal warning to prevent misuse of media credentials.
