Brentford saw their bid for European qualification stall after a 0-0 draw with Fulham, extending their run of stalemates to five consecutive Premier League matches.
The result leaves Brentford seventh on 48 points, missing a clear opportunity to climb above Chelsea and strengthen their push for a first-ever European campaign.
Missed opportunity in tight race
With the league entering its decisive phase, Brentford required a win to gain ground in the congested race for European places. Instead, a lack of cutting edge in front of goal proved costly.
Despite Fulham enjoying more possession, Brentford created the clearer chances but failed to convert. Igor Thiago headed wide from close range early on, while Keane Lewis-Potter fired over from inside the box just before halftime.
Dango Ouattara registered the only shot on target in the first half but could not test Bernd Leno consistently as the game progressed.
