A Kaduna man identified as Junior, was a shadow of his former self after regaining his freedom from bandits.

It was gathered that he was set free by his abductors after nine months in captivity.

A friend, Mike Agwam, shared his story on Facebook a few days ago, narrating the victim’s harrowing ordeal in the bandits’ den.

According to Agwam, the victim told him that throughout the months in captivity, he was made to sit in one position under a tree, with swarm of flies buzzing around him like a d3ad animal.

“I met a friend yesterday in a social environment. I couldn’t recognise him after 3 to or 4 years of not seeing ourselves. He was looking half his size,” he wrote.

“I was staring into his eyes with shock and disbelief. He saw and knew what was going on in my mind, and immediately went ahead to tell me that he was just out from the den of kidnappers, and he has spent 9 months in their hands.

“And went further to show me his picture after he escaped from their hands. A man of 63 years was looking 100 years old in the picture, looking emaciated, deflated, defeated, with white beards like ancient people who lived in caves.

“He told me his journey to the den of these monsters. I sat there fixed and motionless, listening to him.

He told me that for the past 9 months he has been in the hands of his captors. That he was made to sit in one position under the tree. Come rain, come sunshine you remained in one position, with swarm of flies buzzing around you like a d3ad animal.

“It’s an experience you will not wish your worst enemy to experience

“Bathing was a luxury you better imagine, and anything brought to you, you must eat or d!e of hunger.

“In and outside your groin were tiçks that torment you day and night. Ordinary mind would have gone insane, but this my friend’s resilience and endurance helped him survive to tell this story.

“When finally he finished telling me his story my heart melted.

“The gory story of this my friend stands for thousands of kidnapped victims.

“Don’t deceive yourself that you can’t be kidnapped. As long you traversed the length and breadth of your state, you can fall a victim of these monsters.

“We Nigerians must do something pragmatically so as to make the hand of the clock reverse.”
