Suspected kidnappers have abducted a young man identified as Nanmwa Turfa, in Plateau State.
Turfa was kidnapped while on his way home from Bokkos Local Government Area of the state after writing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam.
It was gathered that the kidnappers are demanding N20 million ransom for his release.
Meanwhile, troops under Sector 5 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have launched a search and rescue operation following the abduction of a civilian in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state.
It cannot be ascertained if the victim in question is Turfa.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on April 20 at Maiduna village, where suspected kidnappers abducted the victim to an unknown destination.
Sources said troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, swiftly responded to the report and conducted search and rescue operations within the area, but no contact was made with the perpetrators.
According to the sources, the victim’s family later confirmed that the kidnappers had established contact and were demanding a ransom of N1 million for the victim’s release.
Efforts were ongoing to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the victim, while security presence had been reinforced in the area to prevent further incidents.
