Former Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has warned that the use of cutlass to steal is legally classified as armed robbery.

Olumuyiwa, who gave the warning in a post on Monday, April 20, 2926 said a cutlass is classified as an offensive weapon.

“This is not a gun, but an offensive weapon which could be assumed to be an arm. Under the law, if you use this cutlass or any other sharp or dangerous items to obtain or steal something from another person forcefully, its a case of armed robbery. So, lets be guided. Ire oo,” he wrote
