Nigerian social media personality Amarachi Amusi, widely known as Ashmusy, has revealed that she has taken steps to preserve her fertility by freezing her eggs.
In a video shared on Friday, April 24, 2026, the influencer documented her experience, offering followers a glimpse into the various stages involved in the procedure. The post comes shortly after she faced criticism online regarding her appearance.
Speaking in the video, Ashmusy emphasized her strong desire to become a mother in the future but noted that she does not want to feel pressured into marriage due to age. According to the 30-year-old, opting for egg freezing allows her to plan her life on her own terms without rushing into the wrong relationship.
She described the decision as one of the most important choices she has made, adding that she decided to share her journey to educate and encourage other women who might be considering the same option. Ashmusy also clarified that only her eggs from a single cycle were preserved, stressing that the procedure does not affect her ability to conceive naturally.
Reacting to the development, actress Sarah Martins, who recently trended over comments about Seyi Tinubu, offered a different perspective. She cautioned that egg freezing does not protect women from sexually transmitted infections such as HIV/AIDS and advised that this should be clearly communicated to the public.
“Dear Ashmusy, Thank you for educating women on egg freezing. But, please remind them that freezing their eggs to prevent an unwanted pregnancy doesn’t prevent them from getting infected with HIV/AIDS and other diseases that come with careless bedmatics. It is better to freeze your eggs than give birth to unplanned children. But it doesn’t prevent you from getting infections, my queens. Still use protection. Protect yourself always.”
