A man was arrested after a dispute over alleged defecation escalated into a cane knife attack.
The incident occurred in Greylands, Tongaat – KZN, South Africa on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out after receiving reports that a man had been hacked with a cane knife during a dispute.
On arrival, Reaction Officers found that one individual had sustained injuries.
Officers were directed by members of the public to the attacker’s residence where he was located and placed under arrest. Both men were known to each other.
According to information gathered at the scene, the complainant confronted the accused for allegedly defecating on a pathway in front of his residence.
The confrontation escalated when the assailant armed himself with a cane knife and attacked him, inflicting a laceration to his left elbow.
The accused admitted to using the weapon and informed Officers that he had discarded it onto the roof.
A cane knife was recovered from the roof and seized as evidence.
The individual was handed over to members of the South African Police Service in Tongaat, KZN for further investigation.
