Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice, is facing the risk of a ban from UEFA, following his comments after their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid.

Rice hit out at refereeing decisions that went against his team in the first leg of the semi-final tie.

The Englishman also suggested that the hostile atmosphere at the Metropolitano influenced the officials to overturn a crucial penalty decision.

Referee Danny Makkelie made a U-turn on his penalty decision involving Eberechi Eze, a moment that Mikel Arteta claimed “changes the direction of the match and the tie.”

According to The Times, UEFA will scrutinise Rice’s remarks to determine if they call the integrity of match officials into question.

While he is expected to be available for the return leg at the Emirates Stadium next Tuesday, any eventual disciplinary action could mean he possibly misses the final if they qualify.
