Celtic interim head coach, Martin O’Neill has said the club is yet to make a decision on the future of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

Iheanacho joined the Hoops on a free transfer last summer after he was released by LaLiga club, Sevilla.

The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries since his arrival at the Celtic Park, which initially cast doubt on his future at the club.

The forward’s return to fitness has come at precisely the right time which the club pushing to successfully defend their title.

Iheanacho came off the bench to score the winning goal in Celtic’s 2-1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday.

The former Manchester City star has so far scored seven goals for the Scottish Premiership giants this season.

O’Neil said the most important thing is for Iheanacho to keep improving his fitness.

“That’s a conversation for another day. Right now, his (Iheanacho) fitness is the most important thing, and he has to keep proving that he’s fit on the field,” O’Neill said after the game against Hibernian.
