A Nigerian social media user has gone viral after jokingly claiming he hugged an electricity transformer for 12 hours after being challenged by a supporter of Bola Tinubu over his political views.
The online exchange began after a user identified as “BIGGEST VIRG is on Fanatix” posted that he would not support Tinubu in the 2027 election despite obtaining his Permanent Voter Card.
In response, another X user known as ThomasLFC reportedly told him to “Go and Hug transformer.” The post later escalated after the first user shared a photo of himself embracing a transformer while mocking the challenge.
“So this APC supporter asked me to go and hug transformer because I said I would not vote for Tinubu,” he wrote. “I hugged the transformer for 12 hours straight, nothing happened. No light. Please everyone should get their PVCs.”
The post quickly attracted reactions online, with many social media users treating the exchange as political satire tied to ongoing discussions about electricity supply and governance in Nigeria.
ThomasLFC later reacted to the viral attention surrounding the exchange, writing: “Big Virg don set me uppppppppp,” while pleading jokingly with other users not to block him.
