The father of Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Emmanuel Odiniya has broken his silence on her alleged domestic abuse.
Sharing his side of the story, he revealed that when she auditioned for BBNaija, he supported her, and when she entered the house a second time, he and his friends supported her as she faced eviction every week.
He disclosed that after she won the All Stars season, she grew distant and refused to reach out to him. Emmanuel claimed he had called her countless times and had been trying to see her more than 6 times, so she should appreciate those who supported her, but she refused.
Mr Odiniya said he advised her to give some of her money to the less privileged, but she refused, claiming that the hotel she was posting online as her own actually belongs to him. He said he didn’t like her lifestyle and felt she was on a self-destructive path.
Emmanuel said there were countless times he received misunderstandings between her and her mother, condemned her for her face surgery, accused her of hitting him twice without him saying anything, and charged towards him.
Explaining the viral video, he claimed he hit her out of frustration and said she hasn’t been financially contributing to the family. He recalled how he called Ilebaye for help during one of his medical check-ups in Dubai, but she claimed she didn’t have money, only for him to see her spraying bundles of naira at Cross’s wedding.
Speaking about his estranged wife, he said she is always running away from home, and Ilebaye supported him in divorcing her, only for her to change and fight him over the decision.
Mr Odiniya pleaded with Nigerians to forgive him and Ilebaye, saying he would love them to resolve the family issues offline. He noted that he was arrested and released, but now the police have invited him again.
