Former Arsenal centre-back, William Gallas, has called on the Gunners to sign a player like Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to replace Martin Zubimendi when the summer transfer window opens.

Zubimendi, who joined the Gunners from Real Sociedad last summer, started brightly at the Emirates.

But Gallas feels the 27-year-old lacks the ability to do the ‘dirty work’ in midfield.

“Martin Odegaard needs someone behind him to do the dirty work—to run, compete physically, win the ball and give him the ball,” Gallas told BetVictor.

“Arsenal have Declan Rice, who does that. But they need another. I don’t think Zubimendi can do that.

“Someone like Camavinga at Real Madrid can do this job in the midfield. He’d be a good replacement and a great signing for Arsenal.”
