Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has moved to calm uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, insisting he wants to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu despite ongoing speculation over his contract situation.
The Brazil international has entered the final year of his current deal, leading to increased scrutiny over whether Real Madrid will secure him to a long-term extension.
Saudi Arabian clubs have continued to monitor the 25-year-old, while reports have also linked Manchester City with a possible move.
Vinicius says talks with Madrid still pending
Despite the uncertainty, Vinicius indicated he remains relaxed about the situation and expects discussions with the club to continue in due course.
Speaking to Caze TV, the winger said: “I’ve never imagined myself leaving Real Madrid. I take advantage of every minute I’m here because it’s the club of my dreams.”
He added: “I want to stay here all my life. I have a contract until 2027, I have to talk to Real Madrid and Real Madrid have to talk to me.”
Vinicius also stressed that there is mutual trust between himself and the club hierarchy, saying: “The club is calm and so am I. The president trusts me and I trust him.”
Real Madrid are believed to remain confident that an agreement will eventually be reached with one of the club’s most influential players.
Brazil star targets stronger World Cup impact
Alongside his club future, Vinicius also reflected on his performances for Brazil ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Flamengo attacker admitted he has not consistently reproduced his club form at international level and acknowledged criticism surrounding Brazil’s recent performances.
“At my club we play every three days and we can show it. With the national team it’s more difficult and I haven’t been at the same level,” he said.
Vinicius called on Brazil to improve collectively ahead of the tournament, adding: “The time has come for us all to row together, where we can change our history and bring the party back to our country.”
He also described the World Cup as a lifelong ambition, stating: “Representing Brazil in football’s biggest tournament is a dream I’ve had since I was a kid.”
