Arsenal icon, Ian Wright has predicted that Mikel Merino will net the winning goal for the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The legendary Gunner asserted that the narrative for the Spaniard was destined after the midfielder’s recovery from injury.

During an appearance on The Overlap, Merino acknowledged that the final would present a significant challenge, given PSG’s remarkable prowess.

He expressed that Arsenal was not far behind and was optimistic about their chances of emerging victorious on Saturday, May 30.

“We understand it is going to be a very challenging match. PSG is an extraordinary team. However, we are confident in our abilities as well. Therefore, it will be a tough contest, a close one, and we hope it will favor us.”

Wright quickly added that he was sensing positive energy from Merino. He anticipated the Spaniard scoring the winning goal and remarked:

“I sense winning goal energy from you! I can feel the narrative unfolding! You have faced injury challenges. Just return at the end and then bam, winning goal! You heard it here first!”

Last season, Arsenal faced defeat against PSG in the UEFA Champions League semifinal, where the French team went on to secure their first-ever title.
