Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace have reunited a missing two-year-old child with his family in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The child, identified as Nelson Patrick, was intercepted at about 9:20 p.m. on May 26, 2026 by troops deployed at Latya checkpoint in Jos South.

According to the security sources, the child was found loitering without a guardian.

Preliminary investigation conducted with the assistance of local residents revealed that the child had left his family house in Du village in Jos South Local Government Area and wandered to an unknown destination.

The child was subsequently handed over to his mother, Mrs Deborah Patrick, in the presence of the village head and other family members.

They further stated that troops continued routine patrols across the Joint Operations Area to safeguard schools, critical national infrastructure and other public facilities.
