Chelsea have reportedly ruled out the possibility of selling defender Josh Acheampong this summer after receiving interest from several clubs across England and Europe.
According to talkSPORT, the Blues consider the 20-year-old academy graduate a key part of their future and have informed interested parties that he is not available for transfer.
The England Under-21 international is said to be highly valued at Stamford Bridge and is expected to feature prominently in the plans of new head coach Xabi Alonso ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Premier League and European clubs show interest
Multiple approaches have reportedly been made for Acheampong following his impressive rise through Chelsea’s ranks.
Among the clubs credited with monitoring the defender are Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Chelsea, however, have made it clear that the versatile right-back remains an important part of the club’s long-term project.
Acheampong signed a contract extension until 2029 in December 2024 after making his senior Premier League debut as a teenager.
Since then, he has established himself in the first team, making 44 appearances and scoring twice.
The defender was also part of the Chelsea squad that lifted both the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Chelsea prepare for busy transfer window
While Chelsea are determined to retain Acheampong, the club are also preparing to integrate several new arrivals ahead of the new campaign.
Forward Emmanuel Emegha is set to join from RC Strasbourg Alsace, while highly rated youngsters Geovany Quenda, Denner and Dastan Satpaev are also expected to arrive.
There could still be movement in the opposite direction. Reports suggest midfielder Enzo Fernandez is considering his future after Chelsea failed to qualify for European competition, although the club have reportedly placed a £120 million valuation on the Argentine to discourage potential suitors.
For now, Chelsea’s stance on Acheampong remains firm, with the defender viewed as one of the club’s untouchable assets heading into the summer transfer window.
