Three personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were k!lled by unidentified gunmen in an attack along the Tsamiya–Illo road in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

According to security sources, the attack occurred at about 12:55 p.m. on June 4, 2026 while the officers were carrying out official duties along the route.

The sources indicated that the armed assailants ambushed the personnel, who reportedly attempted to escape upon sighting the attackers.

However, the gunmen pursued them on motorcycles and fatally shot them.

The deceased officers were identified as Deputy Chief Road Marshal Assistant (DCRMA) Umar Aliyu, Senior Road Marshal Assistant (SRMA) Ezra Manu Gona and Road Marshal Assistant I (RMA I) Mansur Ibrahim Nasir.

Security sources said the incident has heightened tension in the area, prompting authorities to advise personnel to exercise extreme caution pending further security assessments.

The motive behind the attack had yet to be established as of the time of filing this report, while efforts were underway to gather more information on the perpetrators and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Security forces have intensified surveillance and other precautionary measures within the affected area to prevent further attacks and restore public confidence.
