Obasi Emmanuel, the former husband of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, has issued a public apology over his emotional display during a recent podcast appearance where he spoke about their failed marriage.
Recall that Obasi recently featured on the HonestBunch podcast, where he alleged that Judy Austin had feelings for actor Yul Edochie while they were still married.
During the interview, he became visibly emotional and was seen wiping his eyes with a handkerchief, a moment that quickly sparked reactions online.
In a video shared on Wednesday, June 17, Obasi apologised for breaking down during the discussion, explaining that his emotions were triggered by the topic.
He said:
He also dismissed claims that his tears were over Judy Austin, insisting that his emotions were tied to his desire to have a relationship with his children.
“I also want the world to know I am not crying over a woman; I am only crying over my children,” he added.
Responding to online critics who focused on the handkerchief he used during the interview, Obasi urged people to pay attention to his message instead of distractions.
“Nigerian men should be careful. Imagine your fellow man come out crying saying he wants to see his children; you left the matter and you were talking about his handkerchief; why not focus on what I am saying,” he said.
