Security forces in Tripoli, the Libyan capital have detained two Nigerian nationals in the coastal town of Qarabouli on suspicion of disseminating violent and criminal incitement materials through social media platforms.

According to an official statement, the two detainees were involved in the circulation of media content and videos described as having an “inciting nature,” which promoted violence and crime.

Authorities said the activities clearly violated Libyan laws and posed a direct threat to public security and stability.

Both individuals have been formally charged, and all necessary legal procedures have been completed.

They have been referred to the Prosecution Office for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
