Argentina midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul, has claimed that his teammate Lionel Messi is not chasing individual records.

De Paul insisted that the 38-year-old Inter Miami forward has no knowledge of his records after his impressive performance for Argentina against Algeria at the 2026 World Cup.

Recall that Messi netted a hat-trick to as the World Cup holders thrashed Algeria 3-0 in their first game this week.

The former Barcelona captain set three records after Argentina defeated Algeria.

However, when asked about Messi’s records, De Paul said (via @AlbicelesteTalk), “Yes, a little because he doesn’t know most of them.

“I swear to you that he is not chasing individual records, but he ends up achieving them all.”
