Media Personality, Solomon Buchi, has defended Belgian footballer Jeremy Doku amid criticism over reports that he left the Club World Cup to be present for the birth of his first child.

According to him, being there for your partner during labour is about more than cutting an umbilical cord. It is about offering emotional support, reassurance, and showing up when it matters most.

He argued that family should come before trophies, especially for the birth of a first child, describing Doku’s decision as the kind of example more men should follow.

“Your presence tells your wife and child that family comes first,” he said.
