Two k!lled as bandits attack commuters in Kogi

Two persons have been confirmed d£ad following an armed attack on commuters along the Okoloke–Isanlu Esa road in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning, June 23, 2026, targeted residents travelling towards Oja-Egbe in Egbe.

Eyewitness accounts say the attackers, described as three armed men, opened f!re on the passengers, k!lling two individuals identified as Daro and Daniel.

Sources claim the assailants did not attempt kidnapping during the attack, but instead focused on shooting victims before fleeing the scene.

Personnel from the 12 Brigade stationed in Okoloke responded and moved to the area after distress calls were raised.

Survivors were said to have fled into nearby bushes during the attack and were later assisted by responding troops of 12 brigade stationed in Okoloke with no record of abduction.
