Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter Oludemilade Martin Alejo, professionally known as Ycee, has opened up about his battle with mental health.

In a recent interview, he disclosed that he was diagnosed with a mental health disorder in 2020. Though not revealing further, he said that after medications and multiple hospitalisations, he lost his creative side.

According to him, he had to accept that the version of him he knew wasn’t coming back. Ycee said his mental condition affected his creativity, and he can no longer freestyle like he used to.
