Celebrity blogger Cutie Juls has addressed the growing controversy surrounding the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, revealing that her platform was approached by individuals linked to the actor’s family to publish serious allegations against people closest to him.
In a statement shared online, Cutie Juls disclosed that multiple conversations took place with individuals connected to Alexx’s family, including a close relative, who allegedly urged her to publish claims targeting the actor’s wife and other people he publicly acknowledged as family during his lifetime.
According to the blogger, the requests were accompanied by lengthy discussions and information intended to persuade her platform to amplify the allegations.
However, she explained that after conducting an independent investigation into the claims presented, her team decided against publishing them.
She stated that the available information did not meet the standard required to present the allegations as facts, adding that her conscience would not allow her platform to contribute to further divisions within a grieving family or unfairly damage anyone’s reputation.
Cutie Juls also emphasized that Alexx Ekubo is no longer alive to speak for himself and cautioned against attempts to rewrite his legacy or cast doubt on the people he openly loved and acknowledged while he was alive.
She further revealed that her platform has preserved records of the communications relating to the requests but stressed that it has no intention of becoming a tool for settling personal disputes.
