Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested five (5) suspected cultist members of the Aye Confraternity during a routine stop-and-search operation carried out as part of an intelligence-led operation along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis of Lagos State.

The operatives intercepted a Toyota Camry XLE saloon car occupied by two (2) suspects, namely Emmanuel John ‘m’, aged 24 years, and David Godwin ‘m’, aged 28 years. A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of substances suspected to be hard drugs. During preliminary interrogation, both suspects confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.

Further investigation by the police led to the arrest of three (3) additional suspected cult members identified as Samuel Owubokiri, 25, Adetona Seyi, 20, and David Chigozie 25.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said exhibits recovered from the suspects include military camouflage, two (2) machetes, one battle axe, one knife, 500 SIM cards, five (5) mobile phones, five (5) laptops, charms, and various substances suspected to be hard drugs. The suspects also confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.

Adebisi added that for emergencies and information sharing, members of the public are encouraged to contact the Lagos State Police Command through the following numbers: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929.
