Sophia Momodu, the mother of Afrobeats star Davido’s first child, has reacted strongly after facing fresh criticism and online harassment from social media users questioning her source of income.
The entrepreneur, who recently marked her 39th birthday, spoke out after a Snapchat user accused her of living an extravagant lifestyle without clear means of livelihood, sparking another wave of public attention around her personal life.
The controversy started when a user identified as Debby Adegoke made a harsh remark, alleging that Sophia was involved in inappropriate activities to sustain her lifestyle. The comment read:
“For how long would you keep selling your body to live?”
Reacting swiftly, Sophia dismissed the claim and called out the user for what she described as obsessive monitoring and unfounded assumptions about her life. She responded:
“Debby Adegoke, I’ve just arrived please. Let me breathe before you start with your weird projections & stalking! Ah ah, una no dey tire???”
After her response gained traction, another social media user advised her to take legal action against persistent online trolls instead of ignoring them.
In reply, Sophia revealed that she had previously considered pursuing such measures but no longer found them worthwhile. She explained that dealing with cyberbullying through legal channels was, in her view, too draining and ultimately ineffective.
She further added that her focus is now on her personal life and business ventures, stating that she does not have the time or energy to engage with internet critics.
