Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been conferred with the traditional title Atayese Oodua of Nigeria by the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I.
The honour was bestowed on VDM during his visit to the monarch’s palace in Iwo, Osun State, following a personal invitation from the traditional ruler. Videos from the ceremony showed the activist dressed in Aso Oke as he received the royal recognition.
The title presentation came shortly after VDM arrived at Ibadan Airport ahead of the royal visit. The ceremony has since attracted widespread attention on social media, with supporters congratulating him while others debated the significance of the honour.
