Omoyele Sowore, the presidential flagbearer for the African Action Congress (AAC), has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is deeply intimidated by his strong connection with everyday Nigerians at the community level.

The activist shared this view on Thursday, July 16 during a media chat outside the courtroom. This followed a warning from the Federal High Court, which stated that it would close his defense if he did not proceed with presenting his case.

Sowore is currently facing allegations of circulating false information regarding the President. He is accused of labeling the nation’s leader as a “criminal” in publications shared across his personal X and Facebook pages.

While addressing the press, the rights campaigner explained that his primary goal is to offer a brand of leadership capable of fixing all sectors of the nation, including the justice system.

“But we know the big deal. The big deal is that there is an election that is coming. Tinubu is mortally, mortally afraid of my popularity with the grassroots,” Sowore remarked.

“But we are not paying a dime. We are not distributing bread. No soap, no rice, not even bitter cola, no tom-tom, no kuli-kulli or akara,” he stated.

“People are saying Sowore has come again. That’s what it’s all about. We are here to provide the leadership for this country that can make Nigeria work, including the judiciary,” he said.
