Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, and his family have celebrated a major academic milestone after his daughter, Oduko Soludo, graduated with First Class Honours in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham.
The proud governor was joined by his wife, Nonye Soludo, and other family members at the graduation ceremony held on Thursday, July 23, as they celebrated Oduko’s impressive achievement in one of the university’s highly competitive programmes.
However, the event drew attention after Ozonna Soludo, the governor’s son and popular social media personality known for his fashion and lifestyle content, was noticeably absent from the celebration.
Rather than attending the ceremony, Ozonna shared a motivational video with his followers online, where he spoke about self-love, personal growth, and the importance of prioritising oneself over seeking approval from others.
In the video, he encouraged his audience to focus on their own happiness, saying, “Love yourself more, make yourself a priority. F**k other people’s opinions. Baby, choose you.”
The post, which came at the same time as his sister’s graduation celebration, sparked conversations among social media users, with many wondering why he was not present at the family gathering.
Despite the attention surrounding Ozonna’s absence, the major highlight for the Soludo family remained Oduko’s outstanding academic success as she achieved First Class Honours in Neuroscience.
Alongside the video, Ozonna shared a message reflecting on self-worth and independence, writing: “Loving yourself will cost you the approval of people who benefit from your self-abandonment.
“So let this be a reminder to choose yourself anyway. Again and again. Because you are worth it.”
