Content creator Jarvis has addressed the viral video that showed her at the Lagos Central Mosque with her fiancé, Peller, amid speculation that she had converted to Islam ahead of their wedding.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Jarvis explained that the circulating clip was an old video and stressed that both she and Peller are Christians, despite coming from Muslim backgrounds.
“To my Muslim brothers and Sisters much love and respect to you all. Quick info!! About the old video circulating. My Husband and I are Christian and we both have Muslim background, but even as Christians we also respect and love our Muslim brothers and sisters. We are ONE.”
The clarification comes a day after social media users widely shared the old footage, claiming Peller had taken Jarvis to the Lagos Central Mosque to take her Shahadah and embrace Islam before their wedding. The video sparked widespread debate, with many questioning whether she had changed her religion, while others argued that faith should remain a personal decision.
Jarvis’ statement has now put those rumours to rest, emphasizing that while they both have Muslim roots, they practice Christianity and maintain respect for people of all faiths.
