Talent manager Jude Okoye has broken his silence following allegations from his younger brother, Peter Okoye.
Newsunplug reported that in the third part of his tell-all series, Peter alleged that he discovered he was no longer a signatory to Northside Entertainment’s bank account while trying to obtain the company’s statement of account. Peter questioned why his brothers would steal from him if money weren’t important, and called their action a pure betrayal.
Jude, speaking out in a video he shared online, said that the allegations made by Peter have been investigated and clarified during proceedings with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and are currently before court.
He debunked Peter’s claims of them diverting royalties, explaining that the payment was made based on instructions Peter himself had given in 2016. According to him, an email from the digital distributor showed that Peter requested his own share of the royalties to be paid directly to him. In contrast, the remaining balance belonging to Jude and Paul was paid into the Northside Entertainment account.
The former P-Square manager also denied Peter’s claim of being removed as a signatory to the company’s bank accounts. He displayed what he described as the official bank mandate, insisting that Peter remained a signatory to all P-Square accounts and claimed the same documents had already been presented in court.
He further dismissed Peter’s claims that it took him three and a half months to release P-Square’s music catalogue backend records. With evidence, he also tackled Peter’s claims that he had never received royalty payments in dollars until recently.
Jude accused Peter of trying to bait him and manipulate public opinion through social media while the matter remains before the court. He maintained that he wouldn’t be discussing issues that are still part of the ongoing legal proceedings, beyond correcting what he described as false narratives.
