Nigerian businessman Olakunle Churchill has reacted to reports of being arrested in Switzerland.
According to reports online, the socialite and ex-husband of Tonto Dikeh was arrested in Switzerland following an alleged tax evasion crime. Reports claimed that an associate linked to Churchill was undergoing investigation involving a company dealing in agricultural importation and international trade operations.
The report further claimed that there were indications that the company is in partnership with Churchill Group of companies, owned by Olakunle Churchill.
Speaking on his Instagram page, Churchill said Nigerians can be their own biggest problem, noting a high rate of jealousy, negativity, and the spread of false information.
He said he has chosen to keep many aspects of his personal and business life private, which many misconstrued as trying to hide. Churchill made it known that he has no police case, court case, or criminal matter.
“We Nigerians can sometimes be our own biggest problem. The jealousy, negativity, and constant spread of false information are exhausting.
In today’s digital world, misinformation can spread quickly, but truth has a way of standing the test of time.
Over the years, I have chosen to keep many aspects of my personal and business life private. That choice should never be mistaken for having something to hide. Privacy is a principle I value, and I intend to keep it that way.
For the avoidance of doubt, I have no police case, no court case, and no criminal matter whatsoever. Any claims suggesting otherwise are entirely false and should be treated as such.
It is unfortunate that, rather than celebrating progress and encouraging one another, some individuals choose to spread unverified stories to discredit others. While such actions are disappointing, they will not distract me from my purpose.
My focus remains on building businesses, creating opportunities, supporting meaningful causes, and continuing the work that truly matters. Those who know me understand that my values, actions, and consistency speak far louder than speculation.
I remain grateful to God for His grace and protection. Truth requires no defence; only time. I will continue to move forward with integrity, dignity, and unwavering faith”.
