Nigerian skit maker and content creator Zic Saloma has advised Nigerians to stop relying on celebrities for financial assistance, urging them to work for their own money instead of constantly requesting millions from public figures.
The comedian made the statement while reacting to the growing number of people asking him for ₦5 million and above, explaining that many people misunderstand how celebrity giveaways work.
According to Zic Saloma, “Stop begging and work for your money. Those philanthropists you see giving people millions often make that money back through content monetization.”
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that people should focus on building sustainable sources of income, while others joked about still needing financial help.
