Nigerian author Mervis Elebe has narrated her experience with Jude Okoye and Psquare following Peter’s bombshell revelation.
In a now-deleted video she shared on one of her social media pages, she claimed she witnessed the family’s opposition to Peter’s relationship with Lola.
Elebe revealed she met the brothers in 2008 when she was 17 and visited their Omole, Lagos home because she was a huge fan. She said Jude, their elder brother and then manager, connected her to their cousin, who lived in the house, and she became familiar with the family.
According to her, Peter was already dating Lola, but they temporarily broke up, after which he began dating a beauty queen who featured in one of Psquare’s music videos, Ifunanya.
The author said Lola informed Peter she was pregnant and only wanted him to know, but he insisted on standing by her and supporting her. She said Peter’s family strongly opposed Lola, primarily because she was older and of Yoruba origin, despite Lola supporting their career.
Elebe recalled witnessing Peter argue with the beauty queen over Lola. According to her, the beauty queen said Lola was a grown woman and could take care of herself. But Peter insisted he had to be there for the mother of his child.
She added that the family’s opposition was obvious even to her as a teenager and said Jude can’t deny it.
“Jude cannot come and say that he never hated Lola, because even to me, as just a random guest in the house, it was so clear that he did not like her. The family did not like her.
He never supported the marriage from day one, and they made that very, very clear”.
