Nigerian TikTok personality and content creator Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, has opened up about his frustration with his parents following their involvement in his wedding and growing presence on social media.
Speaking during a livestream, the newly married internet personality revealed that his separated parents attended his wedding with their respective partners. Peller expressed his displeasure over what he described as the challenges that come with growing up in a polygamous family.
According to him, he had warned his parents against inviting too many people to the wedding, but they allegedly ignored his request. He further disclosed that his father arrived with his girlfriend, while his mother came with her boyfriend.
“A polygamous family is a very bad thing. My father and mother invited so many people. After I warned them not to invite many people, can you imagine? My father came with his girlfriend, while my mother came with her boyfriend.”
Peller also complained about the extent to which members of his family have embraced social media. He said his parents and siblings have become increasingly active online, admitting that the situation has left him angry and frustrated.
“All my family have turned to social media: Papa o, Mama o, my brothers o, everybody. I dey vex for all of them, and I changed it for them. I’m tired!”
The TikTok star also addressed recent rumours surrounding his father’s sexuality after a photograph of the older man lying on a bed with another man surfaced online.
Peller explained that his father was simply creating social media content when the picture was taken. However, he said he believes his father should have been more careful about what he shared online because it led to speculation about his sexuality.
“I blame my daddy for putting himself on social media. My dad was on the bed making videos, and you people started calling him g@y.”
Peller’s comments have since sparked reactions online, with social media users weighing in on his remarks about his family, his parents’ relationships and the controversy surrounding his father.
