Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Chelsea defender, Tosin Adarabioyo before the transfer deadline.

Thus far, United have focused on strengthening their central midfield, with the arrivals of Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba from rival Premier League clubs.

However, with only a few days remaining in the summer transfer window, the Red Devils may now seek to bolster other positions within their squad, especially following their 2-0 loss to Hull City on the opening weekend.

According to transfer journalist, Ben Jacobs, United have been given the chance to sign Chelsea centre-back, Tosin as a rotational option for Michael Carrick’s team.

The 28-year-old has made 38 Premier League appearances since joining Chelsea from Fulham on a free transfer in 2024.

Nevertheless, Tosin was not included in the Blues’ matchday squad for their 3-2 victory over his former club, Fulham, on Monday.

Tosin was on the verge of joining United in 2024 but ultimately chose to sign for Chelsea.

Chelsea have already strengthened their centre-back options this summer by signing Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace for £52 million.

Additionally, the Blues are nearing a deal to sign young Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor for approximately £30 million.

Meanwhile, United have also expressed interest in signing a left-back this summer to provide support and competition for Luke Shaw.

  • Musician, Augustine Miles Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno, has sparked debate after claiming that the late music icon Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was not the sole originator of Afrobeats. “Fela is not the originator of Afrobeats,” Tekno stated during an interview on Hot 97 FM in New York. “Lagos people and the Yorubas might say he is the one, but I am from the East, and we had legends like Oliver De Coque. Oliver De Coque made pure highlife music. Highlife is also Afrobeats.” Tekno argued that Fela received primary credit largely because of his global reach. “Fela gets all the credit because he travelled and performed with his band around the world. To some people, he is the originator of Afrobeats, but to me, there are a bunch of them—legends that no one speaks about.” While acknowledging Fela’s influence and citing him as the inspiration behind his hit single Rara, Tekno emphasized his own musical roots. “I would say I was more inspired by Oliver De Coque and his peers from the East. My dad used to play his music a lot.”
