Nollywood actress Caroline Hutchings has closed the curtain on reality shows.
In a social media post, she said it is exhausting being a part of a reality show in Nigeria. She said she loves her space and naturally gravitates toward friends and people she loves, and whose energy resonates with hers.
Caroline made it clear that none of the cast members of Real Housewives of Lagos is her friends, and her kindness shouldn’t be mistaken for friendship. She noted that the show has been used to redefine her and rewrite her experiences, expertise, career, private life, motherhood, and life as a woman.
“The curtain closes on RHOL.
Before RHOL, there was Carolyna the actress, Carolyna the producer, and Carolyna the storyteller.
For over two decades, I have worked, created, and built in this industry with over 60 movies, award-winning productions, and now 10 movies in the pipeline with an incredible team of writers, producers, crew, and actors.
Our work, our sacrifices, and our creativity deserve to stand on their own.
I have entertained you through RHOL, just as I have through the many movies I have been privileged to be part of. But reality television is one chapter, not the definition of my career.
So, officially, I am closing this chapter.
Thank you for the love, support and every moment shared along the way.
Now, back to what I have always been – a filmmaker, an actress, and a storyteller”.
