Nollywood actress Paschaline Alex is now a mother, welcoming her first child.
While sharing maternity photos on her Instagram page, she noted how people say motherhood changes one, and she now understands what they meant. The Jenifa Diary star said that, looking back at her maternity photos, she sees a woman becoming a mother while still figuring things out.
She admitted that there were days she felt ready, and days she had absolutely no idea what she was doing. According to her, those days were filled with excitement, uncertainty, fear, gratitude, and so many questions.
Now, looking at the pictures with her baby in her arms, she realises she wasn’t just growing a baby, but growing a new version of herself.
“They say motherhood changes you.
I think you only truly understand what that means when it happens to you.
Looking back at these pictures, I see a woman who was becoming a mother while still figuring things out. Learning her changing body, learning to make room for someone she hadn’t met yet, carrying so much love for a little person she only knew through tiny kicks and a heartbeat.
Some days I felt ready; other days, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing—days filled with excitement, uncertainty, fear, gratitude and so many questions.
But I kept going.
And now, looking at these pictures with you finally in my arms, I realise I wasn’t just growing a baby. I was growing into a new version of myself too.
I’m still learning. Still figuring it out. Maybe that’s what motherhood is becoming, every single day.
These pictures will always hold a version of me I’ll never forget, the woman who carried you before she ever got to hold you.
And I think there’s something incredibly beautiful about that”.
Many flooded her comment section with congratulatory messages.
