Here are the fixtures to be played in the group stage of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, scheduled to commence in September.
With preparation for AFCON 2027 entering key stages, the fixtures to be played on both matchday 1 and 2 for the qualifiers of the tournament have been confirmed in CAF’s latest announcement.
The journey to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) PAMOJA 2027 will begin with Matchdays 1 and 2 of the qualifiers, featuring 48 African nations divided into 12 groups of four.
The qualifiers will be played on a home-and-away basis across six matchdays. Following the opening two rounds, action will resume during the 9–17 November 2026 FIFA international window, with the final two rounds scheduled for 22–30 March 2027.
The top two teams from groups without a host nation will qualify for AFCON 2027. Co-hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are already guaranteed places at the tournament, with the highest-placed team alongside each host in their respective groups also securing qualification.
When is AFCON 2027?
The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 will take place across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027, marking the return of Africa’s premier football tournament to East Africa for the first time in more than 50 years.
