A British doctor has been deported from Australia after he was convicted of r@pe for not paying s£x workers for their services.
Faraz Mahboob, 32, was sentenced earlier this year for faking bank receipts after having s£x with two women.
He was found guilty of r@pe in New South Wales, Australia, under new laws that allow anyone who fails to pay a s£x worker to be charged with s£xual assault, as consent was given based on an agreed-upon payment.
A court heard how Mahboob, a student doctor, solicited the two women before claiming that issues with the bank meant he was struggling to send the money, local media reported.
The first victim, 28, agreed to have unprotected s£x with Mahboob, although she requested that he sent a document proving he had a clean bill of s£xual health before doing so.
He sent her a blood-test result under the fake name “Alex Masood”, along with a bogus document claiming to show that $2000 had been transferred into her account, NewsAU reports.
After the pair met and had s£x, Mahboob sent her a message saying that the encounter had made him feel he was “cheating on his ex-girlfriend” and blocked her number.
The incident was later reported to the police.
Mahboob’s second victim, a 23-year-old s£x worker, was contacted by the doctor using the pseudonym “Akshay” in January 2025.
Hemowever, as they were having s£x, he pulled away saying: “Flashbacks, flashbacks. I can’t believe I am f**ing a wh*re”, before apologising and leaving.
When the payment for her services never arrived, the unnamed victim was told by Mahboob that the transfer had been flagged as “fraud”, meaning that he would need to set up a new bank account.
Beginning to feel like something might be wrong, the victim told Mahboob that “this sounds suss”, before warning him she would report the incident to the police, for which he could be charged with r@pe.
Mahboob replied: “OK, this is getting a bit much.”
He then claimed that $45,000 had recently been stolen from his account, before adding: “I’m not being an a**hole, please, I’m already overwhelmed as is.”
Mahboob also sent a series of fake documents to the victim, including an image of a UK passport with the name “Akshay Kamra”, court documents show.
In a statement, the Department of Home Affairs said it “takes seriously its responsibility to protect the community from the risk of harm arising from non-citizens who choose to engage in criminal activity or other serious conduct of concern”.
