LGBTQ activist, Bisi Alimi, has called for the arrest of a Big Brother Naija housemate over an incriminating statement he made on live TV.
According to Bisi Alimi, the Big Brother Naija housemate admitted to targeting a gay man during Covid and subjecting him to kito.
Kito is a gay slang used to describe a situation where predators go on apps to lure gay men while pretending to be gay. They then film their victims in compromising positions and begin using the photo or video to blackmail them and extort money from them. Some even go as far as be@ting up the gay men or k!lling them.
Bisi, after watching the clip from Big Brother, said the housemate openly admitted to targeting a gay man.
Listening to the video, the BBNaija housemate is heard saying to his fellow housemates: “So, he now told me that there’s this gay app where you go and lure gay people, get a hotel room, and then you rob them. And that was f***ing deep.
“Me, I’m not that kind of person but bro, the kind debt wey I dey inside ehn, they’ve arrested me like twice. No cap o. You know they arrested me like two times.
“I thought about it, I was like, ‘ehn, it’s not like we’re k!lling anybody nau.”
“Bro, as I use that app ehn, the kind things I see, I say ‘Jesus, Jesus, Jesus’,” he said while crossing himself.
“See gay ny@sh,” the housemate added to the amusement of two men listening to him.
The housemate then spoke about being asked, “Are you a top or a bottom?”
Bisi called out Big Brother for letting such statement air without consequence for the housemate.
He also called out the police who he claims do not take seriously the plight of gay victims.
He further slammed the friends who laughed at the housemate’s admission without calling him out.
Bisi went on to state that there would have been an uproar if a man confessed on TV to targeting and catfishing a different group of people.
However, he said everyone is silent because they believe gay people deserve whatever they get.
He urged people to report the video to ensure the housemate is investigated.
