A 48-year-old Ghanaian lecturer at Southern Illinois University (SIU), Kofi Akamani, was sh%t de@d at a home off Lake Road in Jackson County, Illinois, United States.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), deputies responded to of a sh%%ting around 5 p.m. on Saturday at a location off Lake Road between Murphysboro and Carbondale.
Akamani was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, where he was pronounced de@d from injuries sustained in the sh%%ting. The deceased was a professor in SIU Carbondale’s Department of Forestry. According to the university’s website, he taught courses in forest recreation and conservation social science.
Following an investigation, police arrested his 35-year-old wife, Betty Akamani, in connection with the incident. She is facing multiple charges over her involvement in the k+lling.
The JCSO said the Jackson County Ambulance Service, Jackson County Coroner’s Office and Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation.
