Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo and fashion designer Toyin Lawani have ended years of tension and reconnected.
Iyabo posted photos with Toyin this week, sharing reflections on what genuine friendship means.
She wrote: “Life taught us that real friendships aren’t perfect, they are real.
We had our moment apart, but real friendship always finds its way back. @tiannahsplacempire”
The reconciliation marks a shift after a public falling out that fractured their bond around 2022.
The two were once close and appeared together on a reality television show.
Their friendship deteriorated when Iyabo grew uncomfortable with Toyin’s loyalty to Laura Ikeji, another woman with whom Iyabo had previously clashed.
Iyabo felt Toyin was gossiping and didn’t appreciate how openly Toyin backed Laura.
The tension spilled onto social media, with both women unfollowing each other online.
The strain extended to real life too.
Toyin stayed away from public events marking milestones for Iyabo’s daughter Priscilla, a departure from how close she had once been with the family. Slowly things shifted.
The two eventually followed each other again online, setting the stage for this public reunion and what appears to be a fresh start on their friendship.
